If you’d like to follow in the footsteps of Martin Bedford, designer of the iconic posters for the 2017 Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival, and create the series for 2018’s event, read on for more information.

The commission is for a prize of £500 and involves designing six posters with the same text but different images, reflecting the six headline acts, plus one poster listing all of the acts.

The competition entry needs to be submitted digitally as a jpeg or png and be capable of being enlarged to an A4 print without too much distortion and as a single image, should feature either Laurence Jones or Kyla Brox, both of whom number among 2018’s headline acts.

The text must include:

Colne Town Council presents The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival.

Featuring King King, Laurence Jones, My Baby, Connie Lush, Kyla Brox and Simon McBride

Colne, Lancashire (or Lancs), UK.

August 24-26 2018

The poster must also feature the festival logo in the bottom right hand corner, versions of which can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/…/9885j8…/AAAPX8dg9HMk-R0N3fG6BuK9a…

Also at the bottom, in the area to the left of the festival logo, a space equating to 10% of the total poster surface must be left free of text or significant detail to allow the branding of sponsors to be added before printing.

All 7 designs should be identifiable as a series.
