Colne Town Council is organising a Spooktacular day in the town centre for Hallowe’en on Saturday, 28th October.

There are three fabulously frightening competitions
to be judged by local artist, Keith Melling:
A Fang-tastic Fancy Dress Competition to be judged under the Market Canopy at 2pm Prizes for Adults and Children. Enter on the day for free.

Best Children’s Pumpkins Competition to be displayed in our Creepy Corridor at the entrance to the Library. Judging is at 1pm, with prizes awarded at 3.30pm, this is Free to enter, but please call on 01282 861888 to enter. Pumpkins to be dropped off outside the Library between 9am and 10am and picked up between 3.30 – 4pm.

Best Business Window Display which is Free to enter, but please call on 01282 861888 to enter, so we don’t miss you on our judging tour of the town. The prizes for all these Competitions were kindly donated by Unique Clean.

Cllr Ash Sutcliffe, Chairman of Colne Town Council’s Events Committee, said: ‘The brilliant, spine- tingling Hallowe’en event is going from strength to strength. The events run by Colne Town Council not only benefit the local businesses and the community, but also help to promote the town and bring more people to see our unique town. Hallowe’en in Colne is a brilliant day out for all the family.’

Colne Town Council has laid on numerous attractions in Town Centre for Hallowe’en in Colne throughout the day:

10am – noon FREE Crafts & Gruesome Story Telling Colne Library
Noon FREE Pumpkin Carving Championship In the Creepy Corridor (Library)
2pm FREE Fancy Dress Competition Front of the Market
10am – 4pm FREE Chilling Crafting Toy Emporium & KP Crafts
FREE Frightening Face Painting Beautiful you

PLUS:-

  • Malkin Morris & Roughlee Ruffians performing at 10am, 12.30 at the Library as well as at 11am and 1.30pm at the Market
  • Helen Green’s Dance Academy performing at 3pm at Parliament St Car Park
  • Window Decorating Competition throughout Colne
  • Free Balloons being given out

The next Colne Town Council town centre event after Hallowe’en is Christmas in Colne which is to be staged on 25th November and includes a road closure from Windy Bank to the junction of Keighley Road and Craddock Road
